As a parent of 2 young boys, Alethea knows how energetic family life can be! Her location shoots are relaxed and fun for all the family including the family dog! No studio, just fresh air and natural light!
Alethea’s portraits are taken on location at your home or somewhere special to you. She does have some great location venues if you prefer.
Alethea uses the environment as her studio. Capturing natural light, texture and composition, she creates beautiful classical images that have a timeless edge.
Contemporary studio style in your own home
Alongside Alethea’s more familiar outdoor portraiture, if you just like the idea of staying in the warm and dry, Alethea can bring along her mobile studio to create some stunning high key images in the comfort of your home.
What should we expect from our portrait session?
Alethea aims to make the session really enjoyable for everyone – especially for those who maybe a little nervous or apprehensive before the shoot. Your location or studio session will be relaxing and fun so that Alethea can achieve beautiful natural images from your shoot.
How long does the session last for?
As a rough guide, a lifestyle or studio shoot usually takes about 1 – 2hours allowing time for outfit changes and maybe a well-deserved treat!
What happens if someone is unwell and we need to reschedule?
No problem. There is no charge for rescheduling but if it’s possible, please do try to give Alethea as much notice as you can. She will reschedule the shoot as soon as she can.
What happens if it rains?
With the summers we seem to be having at the moment, a very good question!
If it is pouring with rain, the shoot will be rescheduled or you can choose to have a studio session in the comfort of your home.
What should we wear?
It’s best to keep clothes simple, avoid logos and highly patterned clothing as this can make the image distracting. If you have chosen to have a studio session, please avoid white clothes as you will disappear into the white background!
Most importantly you need to feel relaxed and comfortable!
Can I give a lifestyle session as a gift?
Yes this is very popular (and, a rather lovely gift.) The gift vouchers can be personalised as a present.
When do we pay for our shoot?
Once you have confirmed your booking you pay for the shoot. Mounted prints and frames are paid for at the time of ordering.
Viewing your images
How long after the shoot will I see the images?
Alethea will visit you at your home about two weeks after your shoot to present your images. The images are set to a slideshow with music.
Can you photoshop images to remove any scratches, bruises or skin blemishes?
Yes Alethea is happy to retouch scratches and blemishes on any images you buy.
Can friends or family order prints after my viewing?
Once you have placed an order you will be provided with a password to your protected album on Aletheas website so that friends and family can see your pictures. It’s up to you to give them the password though!
Is there any obligation to buy prints from the viewing?
No, absolutely not – but, with beautiful images of you and your family, you might find it hard not to!
Your lifestyle portrait session is £40 with fine art mounted prints starting at £45.
Each fine art print is personalised by Alethea and printed on the finest Hahnemuble Paper. Hahnemuble are dedicated to providing the highest standards available and have been manufacturing paper since 1584.
